The recipe today comes from a vintage recipe box that I bought used and was looking through and thought I would share this recipe. It did not have directions, and I explain down below how I would make the recipe.
Vintage recipe card from old recipe box circa late 1960’ s to 1970’s
Sausage Casserole
1-pound Sauage cooked off
8 oz grated cheese
6 Sliced of bread torn
2 ¼ Cups milk
8 eggs mixed
1 tsp salt
4 oz mushrooms
5 green onions
1 green pepper
Preheat oven 325-degrees
Bake for 45 minutes
There were no directions on the card, which is normal for
women who wrote the cards back in the day, they knew what to do.
How I would make this.
Grease casserole dish, Cut bread into cubes. Mixed eggs and milk, add seasonings, add
cooked drained sausage, and the rest of the ingredients. Reserve half of the
cheese. Stir to combine and add to
casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese. Bake
