Easy basic recipe everyone should have to make
Herbed French Bread
Taste of Home annual recipes 1997
¼ cup butter
2 TBSP olive oil
1 garlic clove, minced
3 TBSP grated Parmesan cheese
2 TBSP chopped fresh chives
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 loaf (8oz) French Bread cut into ½ slices
Melt butter in saucepan. Add oil and garlic; sauté until garlic is tender. Remove from heat; stir in parmesan, chives and mustard. Cool for 5 minutes or until creamy. Spread on one side of each slice of bread. Place with buttered side up on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes or broil for 2 to 3 minutes or until lightly browned. Yield 4 to 6 servings.
