Homemade cereal mix
Recipe from community cookbook Sutherlin Samples 1981
8 Cups oatmeal
1 Cup unsweetened coarse coconut
1 cup wheat germ
½ cup un-hulled sesame seeds
1 cup each of walnuts, pecans, almonds all chopped
1 stick of butter
1 stick margarine
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
½ cup hot water
Melt butter and margarine, add sugar, vanilla and water.
Pour this mixture over all the dry ingredients and mix well. Divide into 2
large pans and bake at 200-degrees for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes. Let
cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
