 This recipe comes from The Joy of cooking. Very easy recipe that uses a very few ingredients. 

Hashed brown potatoes 2

Joy of cooking 1946

Prepare 2 cups chopped boiled potatoes

Add and mix well

1 TBSP flour

½ tsp salt

Stir in lightly

1/2 cup milk or evaporated milk

Heat in an 8-inch skillet:

Add 2 TBSP butter or oil

Drop the potatoes by spoonful into the fat. Brown them well on both sides.
