Campfire Stew

Recipe from newspaper clipping 1969

2 pounds ground beef

1 TBSP fat

8 Small onions cut into squares

2 cups hot water

2 tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

1 tsp sugar

6 Carrots halved

4 potatoes quartered

Fry Hamburger lightly with onion, separating into small pieces. Add salt and pepper. When browned pour off excess fat and add vegetables, sugar, and water. Cover and cook slowly until vegetables are tender. Serve hot servs six
