Appetizers with Spicy Grape Dip 1968

 

Recipe comes from the Wonderful World of Welch’s cookbook from 1968

Appetizers with Spicy Grape Dip

½ pound ground beef

Salt and pepper

Shortening

½ pound cocktail franks

1 ½ cups concord grape preserves

1 TBSP cinnamon red hots

2 TBSP lemon juice

2 TBSP ketchup

Season ground beef with salt and pepper and shape mixture into 1-inch balls. In skillet, fry in shortening until golden brown on all sides. Fry Franks until lightly browned. Keep meatballs and franks warm. Combine remaining ingredients and simmer until candies are melted. Dip meatballs and franks into hot dip. Serve at once. Serves 6
