Do you want a new or fun recipe for dipping chips, crackers or vegetable in? Well I have two vintage recipes for dips.
The first recipe is coming from the Farm Journals Country cookbook revised edition 1972
Smoky Cottage Cheese Dip1 Cup Creamed Cottage Cheese
3 oz Cream Cheese
2 TBSP milk
1 tsp minced onion
1/2 tsp liquid smoke
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1/2 cup minced ripe olives
Beat together cottage cheese. cream cheese, and milk. Blend in remaining ingredients. Makes 1 2/3 Cups.
The second recipe comes from:
Better Homes and Gardens Anytime Appetizers from 1985
Cool as a cucumber dip1/2 Cup Plain Yogurt
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
1/4 tsp Dried Dill weed
Dash Hot pepper sauce
1 Small cucumber seeded and finely chopped ( 3/4 Cup)
In a bowl combine yogurt, sour cream, salt, dillweed and hot pepper sauce. Pat Cucumber dry then stir it into yogurt mixture. Cover and chill several hours.
Before serving garnish with 1 TBSP of chopped green onions, and additional cucumber slices. serve with vegetables or crackers. Makes 1 1/3 cups.
Recipe from Betty Crocker's Hostess Cookbook 1967
Garden Dip
In a small mixer bowl combine 1 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese and 1 envelope dry garden mix soup mix, beat on high speed until fluffy. makes about 1 1/4 cups.
